Jane Carrier

Jane is the national policy lead on older people and adult services at the Audit Commission.

She first joined the Commission in 2001, and has led a number of national studies on older people, including the Independence and Wellbeing series, and the joint review of the impact of the NSF for older people with the Healthcare Commission and CSCI. She also led the development of the older people's strand within Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA).

After spending two years as a senior consultant at the Office for Public Management, Jane returned to the Audit Commission in 2008. Previous experience includes a period as policy lead for older people in NHS London Region, and over a decade in a series of senior strategic and policy roles in HIV, sexual health and substance misuse services. She started her career working with young homeless people.

The themes that run through her working life are partnership, promoting wellbeing, and achieving system change.
