Lunchtime learning: Upholding human rights through advocacy

To mark the last day of Advocacy Awareness Week 2022 we hosted a free, online lunchtime learning session with Carlyn Miller, Head of Policy and Programmes at the British Institute of Human Rights.

Carlyn explained how advocates play a key role putting power into the hands of ordinary people and making sure people providing public services are aware of their legal responsibilities. Attendees discovered how, by using the language of human rights law, you can reinforce rights enshrined in law before issues escalate and rights become breached.
