Our community inclusion workshops can be generic or focused on a particular group of people – for example older people, people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problem.
We can work with people from specific services such as residential care, supported living or day services or across services.
Workshops can be focused on just staff, people who use services, families or community members but we would encourage you to make them open to all these group. Topics include:
This one day workshop has been developed to help organisations or groups think about inclusion - to understand, promote, support and evidence it. This workshop will offer participants the opportunity to hear about some of the useful tools and resources that we have developed including: the Inclusion Web, the Social Inclusion Training Pack or the Inclusion Traffic Light system approach. The main aim of the day is for participants to focus on the specific things that need to be done to support people to be more included in local communities beyond services or paid support.
The NDTi have been delivering community mapping workshops around the UK for over a decade and have gained knowledge and experience which challenges some of the negative assumptions made about communities. The one-day workshop considers how to map local community resources and opportunities and make connections.
A two – three day programme for staff (and volunreers) working in residential, day and other support settings and is equally important for statutory, voluntary or private providers. The programme covers the philosophy, tools and activities of community inclusion and community building including using the inclusion web and traffic lights, building community plans and support strategies, working to encourage and challenge community groups, risk and relationship building.
This programme teaches staff with experience of building community lives to train, mentor and support other staff.
