The programme will include:
1. An introduction day (online) where each participant will be invited to introduce themselves, their leadership vision and challenges. The day will also includes opportunities to coproduce elements of the programme’s focus and delivery
2. Two two-day residential events which will include:
• A long view history of services for people with learning disabilities and autism
• Listening to the voices of people with lived experience as leaders in understanding the impact of policy and services • National policy history, current and future
• Understanding human rights and understanding how they should be protected
• Exploring your personal leadership journey and desired destination
• Bravery and the need for resilience and rising strong
• Being in ‘the arena’
• Styles of leadership, their function, impact and limitations.
• How effective teams operate (both established and emerging thinking)
• Personal experiences of establishing and leading creative organisations and systems
• Understanding organisations
• Achieving change through both management responsibility and the use of influence and engagement
• Adapting and using existing systems to deliver different solutions and outcomes
• Large group interventions, design, use and coproduction
• Reflections on own organisations/team
• Developing participants ongoing leadership plans.
3. Action learning sets (online) focusing on practice and problem solving
4. Three themed sessions (online) giving participants the opportunity to explore establish and emerging best practice in delivery areas. These are open to change based on participants needs but we anticipate will include:
• Unleashing creative commissioning in developing both the market and better outcomes for individuals
• Understanding and building community
• Developing and leading radical organisations
