Celebrating the success of Time to Talk Next Steps and the young people involved.
In June 2024 we celebrated the incredible achievements made through the delivery of the Time to Talk Next Steps programme with a series of successful online sessions. These sessions offered a unique opportunity to share learning and reflections from young people, carers, staff, and associates.
This rights-based support initiative has empowered young people with additional support needs aged 16-25 across from across England. Delivered in partnership by NDTi and Contact, and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, this program has made a significant impact on the lives of many over the past 3 years.
Sessions were co-facilitated by 12 young people, 4 dedicated carers and staff members, and were attended by 140 delegates from across the country. Each session provided valuable insights into how personalised, strengths-based approaches help young people build confidence, set their own goals, prepare for adulthood, and have their voices heard.
Explore resources from our celebration including presentations below and useful links to tools, podcasts, videos and blogs created by young people and shared throughout the Celebration.

Encouraging reflection and coproducing new developments based on our learning have been key themes throughout our work with young people. Hear from our Lead Evaluator and young people on how coproduction was integrated into project evaluation from day 1 and amended to respond to learning.
From staffing to safeguarding, Alice and Jackie shared key success factors to delivery of truly person centred support for young people and their family/carers with room to flex and adapt in response to different people's requirements and strengths.
Young people shared their experiences and how this approach has enabled them to build on their strengths and contribute to project delivery.
The NDTi Training Squad is a group of young people who have things to say about what practitioners who work with young people should know. They describe their training and how they developed this. Whether you work in education, health, social care, advocacy or other work with young people this session will help inspire.
